Any computer that visits an Internet site is subjected to data downloads, often times without the user being aware of the activity. In most cases, this data is not malicious in intent but is stored on the user’s computer to allow faster page downloads. Forms, passwords, and other bits of data may be stored to allow users to access their favorite sites with fewer hassles. However, unknown data is still unknown, and many users would like a way to remove it from their computers. Open the Internet Explorer browser window. Click the “Tools” option located near the upper-right corner of the browser page. A drop-down menu will appear. Select the “Delete Browsing History…” option at the top of the menu. The “Delete Browsing History” window will open. Click the “Delete history…” button, which is located in the History section.
