Browser cookies can be useful for automatically logging into web sites and for personalizing web pages. At times you may get cookies you don’t want from sites tracking your browsing behavior or for targeting ads so you may want to delete them now and then. The instructions below are for Internet Explorer 8. Launch the Internet Explorer browser. On the menu at the top of the browser, click on Tools and then Internet Options. Click on the Delete button in the Browsing history section. Select Cookies if not already selected. You can select or unselect the other options. Selecting Temporary Internet Files will clean a lot of temporary files off your hard drive and free up space. Selecting History will erase the list of sites you have visited. You may want to do this if you are visiting sites you don’t want other family members to know about. Click the Delete button.
