Released in late 2002, version 8.0 of AOL added a number of new features to the popular software. It included a toolbar called AOL Companion that allowed users to more easily switch from one screen name to another, added greater customization options, and improved access to search engines, weather, maps, news and more. As with previous versions, AOL 8.0 maintains a list of the sites and pages you visit. If you no longer need this information or do not want others to have access to it, AOL allows you to remove it with just a few clicks. Open AOL 8.0 and log into your account. Type “Toolbar Settings” in the “Keyword” field; press the “Enter” key. Click the “Clear History Trail Now” button. Click “Yes” when prompted to confirm your choice. Click “Save” to close the the open menu.
