Weaving on a bead loom is a great way to make beautiful jewelry, beaded accessories and even bead tapestries. However, people new to bead weaving may find it difficult to understand how pieces are constructed, especially pieces that become increasingly narrow. Fortunately, decreasing the number of beads per row to create a tapered end is simple once you know the technique. String your loom so that the rows of warp threads are the correct width for the widest section of the bead design. Begin weaving rows of beads as you usually would. Add bead rows until the rows reach the desired length for the widest section of your intended design. Weave your beads to the end of the last wide row and wrap the weft around the outer warp thread to hold the end bead in place. Start the first decreased row by threading the weft thread back through the end bead of the previous row with your beading needle.
