How Do You Decorate For A Renaissance Fair?
A Renaissance Fair is a wonderful time to relive the bawdy glory of Shakespeare’s days. There is much fun to be had a Renaissance Fair where silverware is verboten, lute music rings in the air and joisting is a favorite pastime. Decorating for a Renaissance Fair can be almost as much fun as attending one. Let your imagination run wild and picture yourself in period costume enjoying a fabulous night with friends. Create booths for games, food and resting out of tents and beams. Build stalls with thatched roofs if you have the inclination. Lay straw around the tents to give it a rustic feel. Lay bales of hay around the fair grounds for visitors to rest on. Find long wooden benches and tables. Nothing metal can be used for dining, it would’ve been too expensive in Renaissance times. Hang tapestries and coat of arms along tent walls and banners outside along walkways. Paint wooden signs, such as “Ye Olde Tavern” to indicate what’s in each tent.
