There are several things you should consider before decorating begins–including whom the birthday is for, the birthday person’s likes and dislikes, how many guests there will be, what your budget is, what the theme is and what the age of the birthday person is. All of these will help determine how simple or elegant the decorating should be. Begin decorating for a birthday party at least one to two hours before guests are expected to arrive. You need to give yourself enough time to get everything set up the way you want it.
