How Do You Decorate Clothes With Buttons?

Dress up shirts, sweaters and dresses with cute buttons. It’s easy to make a $5 shirt into a piece of art. This example uses a 3/4 sleeved sweater. Thread the sewing needle with clear sewing thread. Make sure you double the thread by pulling it half way through the eye of the needle and tying a knot at the free end of the thread. Give yourself at least 12 inches of doubled thread so that you are not constantly having to stop and re-thread your needle. Start on the inside of the sweater near the neck line and push through to the right side of the sweater until the knot on the thread will not go through the fabric. String on a button by putting the needle through one hole and push the button all the way down to the sweater. Put the needle through another hole in the button and push it back into the sweater so that it comes out on the inside of the sweater. Push the threaded needle up through either the same hole as the first one or through another hole if your button has more than 1 hole
