Creating an old fashioned Christmas that is decorated with items created by your family is an excellent way to celebrate the holiday. Wrap white lights from the base of the Christmas tree to the top. Using white lights will most closely mimic the candles that were first used on Christmas trees. Because lighted candles on a Christmas tree are a fire hazard, white tree lights are a nice substitute. Thread a needle and string popcorn to create a strand that is about 6 feet long. Repeat two to four times depending on the size of the tree.
