How Do You Decorate A Western-Theme Christmas Tree?
If “Don’t Fence Me In” is your favorite song and Patsy Montana your ideal of a cowboy’s sweetheart, why not bring the West inside with a cowboy tree? Buy a tree and set it up. Get some Western-theme lights – cowboy boots or cacti or at least some red-hot chili peppers – and put them on. Collect the materials you’ll need. Start by asking all your friends to give you their old bolo ties (anyone over 30 has at least one tucked away somewhere). Plastic horses and cowboys (don’t forget some cows) are a must, as are miniature cowboy boots (check the doll clothes section of a toy store) and aluminum cut-and-painted ornaments. Don’t forget miniature bottles of hot sauce! Make your own Western-theme ornaments out of anything you can think of – for example, take the label off a can of baked beans, reduce it on a color copier, and make your own miniature by wrapping the copy around half a toilet paper roll.
