How Do You Decorate A Cake With Real Flowers?
It is easy to decorate a cake with beautiful flowers to make someone’s birthday really special! Bake your cake and frost it with white frosting and set aside. If you have purchased your flowers simply begin cutting the stems to approximately 2″ to 3″ in length. You don’t want the stems much longer as you only want to push them into the cake far enough to hold them in place. If you are using cut flowers from your garden, wash and soak them in plain water and to be sure to clean them well. Inspect them carefully so you won’t end up with any insect surprises on your cake. Cut the greenery off the flowers and set aside for later use. Once your flowers are cut, start in the middle of the cake by using one large flower or by using a few flowers that are the same as the center piece. Work your way around the cake from the center out. You can decorate just the top of the cake or all the way around the sides as I have done here. You can fill in completely or leave some of the frosting showing.
