Here are some easy steps to follow so you can keep your friend while turning down her offer. Thank your friend for offering you such a flattering responsibility. Ask her how many maids she is planning to have. Hopefully she was not planning on having only you in the party. Tell her it might be less stress to have a smaller party and that you might be a little too busy this year to take on this responsibility. Explain to her that you would hate to say “Yes” and then not be able to fulfill your duties. Suggest someone else to take your place.
