Most issues that come up when using a GPS in an automobile will be related to the navigation settings. What looks on the surface to be buggy behaviour is, in fact, settings that are not optimized to your preferences. The routes and types of roads you want to use, for example, can be optimized on the device. Make sure the route preferences are set to your preference for calculating the route. In the setup menu, select “Faster Time” to calculate routes that are faster to drive but can be longer in distance. These routes may include freeways and toll roads, and you may add more miles to your vehicle over time. Select “Shorter Distance” to calculate the routes that are as short as possible but may take more time to drive because of other factors. Check the “Avoidances” setting.
