The fear of public speaking, or glossophobia, is one of the oldest and most prolific phobias that exist. Some even place a fear of speaking above that of death. Even though most of us will encounter a situation in which public speaking is warranted, such as a wedding, funeral or business meeting, many still shudder at the idea of having to speak in front of a large crowd. Think critically about public speaking; understand it does not need to be a stressful activity. Make a list of all of the aspects of public speaking that stress you. Now, review each of these points and try to figure out ways in which to diffuse the stress you feel about public speaking.
