I would try to be very agreeable with your sister-in-law at first…empathize with her. You may not actually agree with everything she is saying but just be agreeable so she can vent a little and get it out of her system. Once she feels you are on her side and understand her she will be more apt to listen to what you have to say. Convince her to go to marriage counseling or even individual counseling if she can’t get the brother in law to go. The problem is too big and packed with too much family emotional baggage stuff that you really should try and point her towards a professional. Obviously it is already playing with your emotions and it will only get worse if it escalates and you stay in the middle of it. Maybe do the research yourself and find them a good counselor. A good counselor can fix a marriage that is breaking down. Another idea that is a bit more ambitious is if you have a lot of close family…and I am sure this bad relationship is effecting everyone in the family. Enlis
