How Do You Deal With An Employee After Performance Appraisals?
You’ve just done the annual round of employee performance appraisals. While you thought the reviews were helpful and constructive, you’re still left with an office full of workers with attitudes. Rather than fire the whole staff and start anew, you can deal with an employee after performance appraisals with a lot of scrutiny, a little patience and a few tactful tips. Compile a list. Make a list of any problems or goals discussed in the appraisal and keep it handy on your desk. Refer to it often to make sure those issues are being dealt with. After an appraisal, be it negative or glowing, an employee can end up with an attitude. An employee who received a crummy review may be sullen or petulant. One who heard how great she’s doing may start to slack off. Both are common reactions and both need to be nipped in the bud
