The Melbourne shuffle is a distinct underground movement that finds its roots in the Australian dance scene as far back as the 1980s. As music trends continue to evolve, so does the shuffle, which is gaining in popularity and style. Pick up the basics to join in the party. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and transfer your weight on to the front of your right foot. Pick your left foot off the floor so you are standing on one foot with that heel off the floor. Angle your right foot to the left so that you are using the front of your foot as a pivot and then transfer the weight onto your heel. Repeat the step, toe to heel so you are moving along the floor. Tap your left foot along the ground in the same direction in between your pivot steps so that the action is independent and moves on the beat directly after your right foot.
