Head to your local Hardware store and purchase a miter box kit. These kits include a hand saw and a miter box for about $20 usually. You can find miter box kits in the lumber section or by the saws. Mark your cut on the wood and place the piece of wood into the miter box. The box will include 2 different 45 degree angles and a slot for a 90 degree straight cut.
