How Do You Cut Lucky Bamboo Plants?
Lucky bamboo is a member of the lily family that is often grown hydroponically in containers filled with stones and water. Although named after the bamboo family, it actually has no relation, thus the care of lucky bamboo is quite different from that of any plant in the bamboo family. Occasional cutting or pruning can help your lucky bamboo to remain attractive and encourage vibrant growth. Gently melt the paraffin wax in a double boiler over medium heat until smooth. Look for yellow or top heavy branches on the bamboo plant. Cut them 1/4-inch from the leaf bract using garden clippers. Dip the paintbrush into the melted paraffin wax and paint the wax onto the cut surface of the mother plant. The wax will seal the cut area, preventing bacteria from killing your plant.
