Few things top off a cold drink better than a lemon or lime garnish. This is not only to flavor the drink but enhance the appearance as well. There are two ways to cut lemons and limes for drinks: one is called a wheel and the other the wedge. The wedge equates to 1/8 of the whole lemon or lime, allowing more portions compared to the wheel. Place the lemon or lime on the cutting board and slice off the ends. Place the lemon or lime on the cutting board with one of the cut sides down and slice lengthwise down the center of the fruit. Place one of the halves aside. Reposition the remaining half of fruit with the peel up and the large cut edge touching the cutting board. The two cut ends will be facing your hands. Slice once down the center of the fruit to cut in half crosswise, then slice these two pieces down the middle to quarter this fruit half.
