Cutting glass at home requires the proper tools and patience. In reality, you do not cut through the glass but you actually score the surface of the glass and snap the sheet of glass along the score line. A few factors determine if you snap cleanly through the glass or the cut leaves a jagged snapped edge. The cleanliness of the glass, the amount of pressure you apply to the glass and the stability of your worktable all determine the outcome of the cut edge. Lay the damp rag flat on the worktable and place the piece of glass on top of the damp rag. Spray glass cleaner on the face of the glass facing up and thoroughly wipe the surface of the glass with clean rags. Make sure that the surface of the glass is clean to avoid problems when scoring with the diamond-tipped glass cutter. Hook the end of the tape measure on one end of the glass, pull the tape measure along the piece of glass and mark the length you need to cut the glass with the grease marker. Repeat the process to make a second
