Cutting a marble countertop with a wet saw is possible but requires a bit of preparation to make sure that the countertop will not crack. Wet saws have a gliding table that is used to move a tile toward the blade. Most wet saws will not, however, have a table large enough to accommodate a countertop. In order to rectify this, you will either need one or two people to hold the countertop’s ends to neutralize the weight or construct something to support the countertop. Set the wet saw up on a sturdy surface. Fill the pan with water high enough to cover the water pump. Mark on the edge of the marble with a pencil where the cut needs to be made. Place the countertop on the gliding table. With the wet saw off, slide the counter top toward the blade to check that the blade will impact where the cut needs to be made.
