How Do You Curl Kanekalon?
Kanekalon is a synthetic hair product made by the Japanese company Kaneka. It’s commonly used for hair extensions and weaves, as well as wigs and doll hair. Kanekalon is flame-retardant and comes in a variety of styles, including braids, straight extensions and kinky extensions. It comes in more than 120 colors. Straight Kanekalon can be easily curled at home. Wind the Kanekalon lock completely around a salon rod and secure it with a rod fastener. Use a large rod for loose curls and a thin rod for tight curls. Immerse the rod into hot water at a temperature between 158 to 176 degrees F for 15 seconds. Remove the rod from the hot water and gently blot it dry with a clean towel. Allow the Kanekalon to fully air dry. Unlock the rod fastener and carefully unwind the curled Kanekalon from the rod. It’s now ready to use.
