How Do You Crochet A Change Purse?

0

If you are tired of all your coins rattling around in the bottom of your purse, this cute little cotton change purse will corral all those pesky coins. From start to finish, this change purse takes less than two hours to make. It also makes a great stocking stuffing. This pattern is for an envelope style coin purse which loops over a button to close. Select a cotton yarn for the project that is not too soft because you do not want it to stretch too much. Find a button that coordinates with the yarn color and has holes large enough for a darning needle to pass through so it can be attached to the change purse. Use a small hook such as a size B so the stitches will be small and tight. Chain stitch 16 stitches. Single crochet in the second stitch and in each stitch across the row, there should be 15 stitches. Chain one and turn. Single crochet in the second chain, only on this row, crochet through the back loops of the stitch. In other words, the crochet hook should be coming towards you.
