Many people who use the Adobe InDesign do not know how to create spot color swatches within their document. Knowing how is the difference between submitting your artwork to a printer as is and submitting it and having to pay for color corrections so your file is print ready. With your document open, open the swatches palette by pressing Command+f5(MAC) or Control+f5(PC). Once your swatch palette is open, from the flyout menu on the top right select the option for New Color Swatch. When you have selected this option a new window will pop up. By default it is set to create a color in CMYK build or RGB Build dependant on your preference settings. As a rule you should ALWAYS be working in CMYK and or SPOT color when creating documents for print.
