FileZilla is a free FTP client and server application. Use it to transfer files from one computer to another in client or server mode. The server application is only usable on computers running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista Operating Systems. The client is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems. The version discussed in this article is 3.0.9.1 installed on Windows XP with SP2. Click on Start in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Select All Programs, the FileZilla FTP Client group and the FileZilla link. Enter the server host domain name or IP address in the box provided, as well as the username and password. Enter a port number, if necessary, based on the server. Navigate to the Quickconnect button and click it. Move the mouse cursor over the Server label on the menu bar and click to select.
