How do you create an artificial intelligence?
Artificial intelligence in it’s narrowest sense is the ability for an autonomous device to think for itself, much in the way that a human is capable of doing so. This can be simulated to a certain degree through the use of programming that allows a device to gather information about it’s surroundings and make decisions based upon the information. Unfortunately, true artificial intelligence is much more complex. W. Grey Walter, a roboticist, wrote that for an autonomous device to have a fair imitation of intelligence, it must posses certain attributes such as exploration, curiosity, foresight, etc, which is currently beyond our capabilities. So to your question, artificial intelligence could be created if you could give an autonomous device the full thought process of a living creature, if that even is at all possible.
