How Do You Create A Windows 98 Startup Disk Command?

0

A floppy startup disk is a valuable tool to have for a computer running Windows 98. Not only can it be a quick way to start the computer in pure MS-DOS mode, but it can also be used to partition and format a new hard drive when setting up Windows 98 for the first time or on an existing computer. Create a Windows 98 startup disk using the format utility built in to the operating system. Insert a blank disk into your computer, then double click the “My Computer” icon on the desktop. Right-click the floppy drive and click “Format.” Select the radio button labeled “Quick” and click “Start.” Click “OK.” This formats the disk and prepares it to be written on. Click “Close” to return to the disk formatting window. Select the radio button labeled “Copy system files only” and click “Start.” The files needed to boot the computer will be copied to the disk. Click “Close.” The startup disk is now ready to use.
