How Do You Create A Windows 98 Bootable CD?
The Microsoft Windows 98 installation disk is a bootable CD that enables installation of Windows 98 from DOS, which is initiated by the CD boot process. The Microsoft Office Windows 98 CD is created with a proprietary Microsoft file compression and the CD will not copy using a standard CD burner and burning software such as Nero, Roxio or Alcohol. However, if the Windows 98 bootable installation disk is used to create an ISO image, or disk image of the CD, the ISO image may be burned to a CD producing a bootable Windows 98 installation disk. Additionally, Windows 98 Bootable CD ISO images are available free of charge for download from a few different websites. Open a web browser. Navigate to one of the free bootable ISO image websites (see Resources). Click the Windows 98 link. Click the Save File button to save the ISO file to the hard drive. Click the Windows Start button and launch the CD/DVD burning software. Insert a blank CD. Click the Create CD option in the CD/DVD burning utili
