• Open a new Excel document. • In the top 2 left columns, name the first “Date” and the second, “Weight.” Fill in the date and weight data that you currently have. Don’t worry if you only have 1 day or 2 to add to the chart. • Find the graph icon on the tool bar to open the “Chart Wizard” or go to “Insert” and then select “Chart.” This opens the chart wizard. • Select “Line” for the chart type, and then pick a chart sub-type which displays line markers at each data point. Then click “Next.” • Enter your data when the wizard asks for it. • Select the data in both the “weight” and “chart” columns until a dotted line appears around all your data. The wizard should compile that information into a graph in front of you. Click “Next.” • Label your graph axis. • The bottom axis is “X” and you can label that “weight” or “date” depending on how you entered your data. Do the same for the “Y” axis.
