How Do You Create A Tiny And Safe Thermite Reaction At Home?
Create a white hot thermite reaction that is so small in size that it is safe to perform at home using ordinary materials and tools found in most homes. Obtain an unused Brillo steel wool pad. Carefully pull out and cut with a scissor a single strand of the steel wool until the open ended strand extends about one inch from the pad. Take a piece of damp tissue paper and squeeze the strand in the tissue and pull to clean off the soap residue from the strand. Dry the strand with dry tissue. Find a small piece of scrap aluminum that is pure (no alloys). Lawn chair Al tubing is a good source. Find a small metal file that is medium course.
