How Do You Create A Table Of Contents In Word 2007?

0

One of the functions that Microsoft Word 2007 is equipped with is a table of contents feature. This is particularly useful for us writers and/or students who write novels and papers frequently. This function allows you to automatically create a table of contents based on the headings that you insert into your document. One benefit to using the table of contents feature is that it will automatically generate based on the headings that you use. In order to effectively use this function you need to have your chapter headings formatted as headings. You can find this format on the ribbon underneath the home tab. Highlight your chapters and select Heading 1. For sub chapters you can specify them as headings 2. This enables you to have sub-headings in your table of contents. Once you have all your chapter headings specified as headings, you want to put your cursor underneath the title but before your first chapter. From here, go to the reference tab. This is on the top ribbon. On the far left
