How Do You Create A Spreadsheet From COBOL Output?
COBOL (Common Business Oriented Language) can output flat files that can be read into a spreadsheet. To create a spreadsheet from COBOL output simply open Microsoft Excel and find the COBOL output file. Microsoft Excel has the ability to import flat files that you can format into columns prior to loading the spreadsheet. COBOL can output flat files such as CSV (Comma Separated Values) or any other kind of DSV (Delimiter Separated Values) format available for flat files. Step 1 Click “Start > All Programs > Microsoft Excel.” The Microsoft Excel window opens with a blank spreadsheet. Step 2 Click “File > Open” and browse to the folder with the COBOL output.
