Using games in your teaching can help your students learn and review material. The Jeopardy game is a popular choice. It features a grid with several different categories and points values, with more difficult answers receiving higher points. Students select a category and point value and then compete to give the correct question to the underlying answer. You can create a new Jeopardy game in very little time. Best of all, you can use the Jeopardy game in your class to review any topic. Decide the categories for your Jeopardy game. These should relate to the topic at hand. For example, if you were using Jeopardy to review Spanish vocabulary, your categories could be “Around the Home” and “Stores.” Think of five questions and answers for each of sic categories. Remember that in Jeopardy, contestants see the answers and must respond with the question, so the answer must be detailed enough for the student to give the correct question.
