How Do You Create A Marble Faux Finish?
Creating a marble faux finish on a wall or piece of furniture can be an excellent do-it-yourself weekend project. While creating the marble-like finish is a little more difficult than crafting most other types of finishing, it can be accomplished by anyone willing to put in the time. Once finished, you will have a piece of decor reminiscent of the finest marble seen in the most affluent houses and establishments. Ready your work area by placing tarps or drop cloths under the piece you will be working on. If you are marbling a wall, you will want to tape off areas you will not be finishing and cover the flooring to protect it. Prepare the piece of furniture or wall you will be working with. Take off any handles or other hardware and tape over any mirrored or glass surfaces. Fill in any large holes with spackle and any small ones with a filler material.
