All you need are a few household items and you can keep your cigars fresh. Step 1 Clean out one air tight plastic container that is large enough to hold your cigars without being stacked on top of each other and leaving room for a sponge. Step 2 Place cigars side-by-side inside the container. Step 3 Cut one sponge in half. Dampen one of the two pieces of sponge. Make sure that the sponge is not so wet that it drips water. Step 4 Place the dampened piece of sponge as far away from the cigars as you can. Place the dry section of sponge between the cigars and the dampened sponge.
