Microsoft Word gives you the ability to create something called macros. These are automated pieces of information to help speed up your document creation. They can be as simple as a single line of text or as advanced as charts and imports. Word also has toolbars that you can view. Most notably is the one with the buttons that allow you to bold, italicize or underline words. Sadly, Microsoft Word does not have a macros toolbar. In this tutorial I am going to show you how to create a simple macro then create a toolbar to display your macros. Launch a blank document in Microsoft Word. Click on the “Tools” menu item at the top, then click on the “Macro” submenu item and finally click the “Record new macro” slide out menu option as shown in the picture associated with this step. When the record macro window appears give your macro a name. You are not allowed to use spaces. Below the name, click the “Toolbars” button to bring up the customization window.
