How Do You Create A Line Graph?
Graphs are used in mathematics as a visual tool to demonstrate relationships. A line graph (sometimes called a linear graph) is a type of graph that shows a linear relationship between one variable and another variable. A common example of a line graph is called a time series graph, where time (for example, seconds) is plotted on the X axis and a dependent variable (for example, web traffic) is plotted on the Y axis. Draw a line along the left side of your graph paper, leaving at least an inch or two of room to the left. This is your Y axis. Write numbers along the left side of your Y axis, starting at the bottom with the number 0, and at the top with the maximum number you need to plot your data. For example, if you are drawing a graph of web traffic for the week, and you know the highest traffic day had 100 visitors, then put 100 at the top of your Y axis. Fill the numbers in between 0 and your maximum as appropriate. In this example, put the number 50 in the middle of the axis, the
