How Do You Create A Limestone Finish Over The Top Of A Tile Or Formica Counter Top?
Now you can create the look of gorgeous and realistic sandstone right over the top of your old tile or formica counter tops! I hated my bath counter top and Janice Faulkner of “Faux Effects International” gave me easy instructions when I contacted her and asked her how to create a hard, limestone finish over the top of my existing (disgusting is more the word) tile counter top in my main bath. I did this counter 2 years ago and to this day it’s holding up beautifully! I cleaned the counter top well and then wiped it with pure white vinegar to give it a bit of extra “tooth”. I taped off the wall, molding and sink with blue painters tape. I primed the surface with “Prime Etch” from Faux Effects. I let it dry overnight. Using a gloved hand, I smoothed on “Aqua Stone” from Faux Effects. Completely cover the surface with about a 1/4″ layer of Aqua Stone.
