Entertaining bored kids can try even the most patient parents. Often, video games and electronics are the first thing to come to mind. But before you pick up that remote control to hand to the kids, consider an inexpensive alternative. Creating a dress-up bin can encourage your child’s imagination and provide hours of fun. Go through your closet and pick out old articles you no longer wear. This can be anything from old dresses and shirts to belts and hats. The greater the variety, the better the dress-up bin. Visit thrift stores and find fun items such as old pocketbooks, capes and accessories. You’ll be amazed at what your kid’s imagination will turn these items into. Purchase some inexpensive feather boas and strands of beads at your local crafts store for added fun. The only limit to what you put in the dress-up bin is your imagination.
