How Do You Create A Custom Skateboard?
With the advances in technology, it is now possible to have your own designs printed onto skateboards. This new process has revolutionized the industry – one that was largely an extension of the incredibly over-saturated t-shirt screen printing realm. With these new advances, it gives printers and artists the ability to have their boards printed at low quantities due to the digital process. Digital art is then heat pressed to the blank board or applied with adhesives. Start with a blank template the size of your desired board. The standard board is 38 in x 6. You can apply these same steps to any size board, including longboards and fishtail boards. Create your artwork in your desired program, Photoshop and Illustrator. If you’re going to do it in a pixel program, make sure it is a high-resolution file (300 dpi at the minimum) Submit it to a production site like Deckpeck (http://www.deckpeck.com) or another skateboard printing site that handles production.
