A chord chart is a chart that shows the notes in a chord. Typically, these chords are created for guitar and are the chord symbols placed over the piano and vocal part in a piece of music arranged for piano, vocal and guitar. The chords are shown on a graph representing the neck of the guitar. Using the table feature in Microsoft Word, it’s easy to create a chord chart. Go to the “Table” menu and select the “Draw Table” option. This will give you a pencil for your cursor. Draw a square on your blank document in the upper left hand corner. The size of the square depends upon how many chord diagrams you want to get across the page. Aim for about five across, though more or less is fine.
