Digital pianos today have thousands of features and sounds built in, but many do not make the process of recording your songs to CD very easy. One thing every digital piano is sure to have is a stereo headphone jack. Using this common feature, you can easily record your music to a CD using Microsoft Vista’s built-in tools. Start with the volume on your keyboard all the way down. Before you plug any cables into you computer, your keyboard volume should be off or very low to prevent damaging your computer or speakers. Plug the stereo 1/4-inch cable into your keyboard’s headphone jack. The 1/4-inch side is the bigger of the two ends. Locate your computer’s microphone jack. Plug the 1/8-inch end of your cable into the microphone jack on your computer. In Microsoft Vista, you can use the built-in “Sound Recorder” to record as much as your hard drive can hold. Click the start button and type “Sound Recorder” in the search bar. It should open the software. Test your volume settings by pressin
