Using an image file (ISO) extraction program to create the bootable file, Nero can easily create a bootable Windows XP CD from that image. Doing so, allows the user to backup their installation disc should anything happen to the original. Download and install MagicISO. MagicISO allows the user to extract the boot image from the installation disc, which is needed to create the bootable CD. Open MagicISO. Insert the original Windows XP installation disc. Select “Tools” > “Make ISO from CD/DVD-ROM.” Select the CD-ROM drive from the “Source” drop-down menu. Enter a name for the file. Select the radio button for “Export Boot Image” and select “OK.” Quit MagicISO once the process completes. Remove the original CD. Insert a blank CD into the optical drive. Open Nero.
