How Do You Cover An Above Ground Swimming Pool?
Whether you have an above-ground or in-ground pool, it’s important to cover the water surface when the pool is not in use. If a cover is not in place, leaves, dirt, bird droppings and other debris can quickly overwhelm the filter system, causing the water to become cloudy and unattractive. Check with your pool manufacturer to see if there is a custom-designed pool cover for your model. Measure the width of your pool before shopping for a pool cover. If you cannot find the exact size you need, choose a cover that is a few inches wider than your pool. Lay the cover on top of your pool, starting at one end and slowly unrolling the cover until the entire surface is covered. Some commercial pool covers will have a strap or rope to hold the pool cover in place. If your pool cover has such a device, be sure to secure it properly.
