How Do You Cover A Damaged Tile On Basement Floors?
Tiles that are installed on a basement floor can sometimes become damaged and need to be repaired or covered. The kinds of tile used in a basement can vary and covering the tile can be tricky depending on what type of tile has been installed, but broken tile can be sharp and can cause injury if it is not repaired or covered. Step 1 Remove and replace the broken piece of tile. Take out the broken pieces first and then use a chisel to break away the rest of the tile. Step 2 Use the chisel to chip away any thinset so that the area is as smooth as possible. Use a vacuum to clean up all of the left over residue. Step 3 Place a new tile down on the floor with thinset or some other adhesive. Once the tile has set for about 24 hours, apply grout to complete the job.
