ITunes is software that can be used as both a media player and as a syncing program to transfer files and information from the Mac to the iPod. With iPod versions 2007 or later, protected files purchased through the iTunes store can be copied from the iPod onto the Mac using iTunes as well. To copy non-protected files or to copy files from an older iPod, however, you must download a third-party software. Download iTunes. iTunes is available to download on the Apple website.
