If you want to access your ISP somewhere else, what do you do? Unfortunately, in Windows, you have to manually transfer Internet settings from one computer to the other. Starting with the computer you want to copy settings from, open the Start menu, choose Settings and then choose Control Panel. Double-click on the Internet Options icon. Select the Connections tab. Click the Settings button next to the Dial-up menu. Click the Properties button in the new Settings window. Select the Server Types tab. Note the type of server listed in the Type of Dial-Up Server menu. Click the TCP/IP Settings button toward the bottom of the Server Types pane. Write down the IP address and any server addresses that appear in the TCP/IP settings window. (Note that many ISPs use server-assigned IP and server addresses.
