How Do You Cope With The Death Of A Child?
My personal experience and journey after the tragic death of my son is a message of hope and endurance. Please read on if you wish to share my experience and know how I cope on a day-to-day basis. GETTING THROUGH THE DAY IT HAPPENED July 1st, 2004 is a day that will forever be etched into my memory. I will never forget the phone call explaining that my 17 year old son, Kyle, was no longer with us. For 5 long years now I have had to make it through July 1st. What I have found comforting on this horrible anniversary date is to remember not the tragedy, but happy memories of his short-lived life. I recall things such as him learning how to walk; his 1st birthday and how he took his piece of cake and smashed it on and all over his head and face, and other memorable moments of his childhood. Naturally my mind wavers to negative thoughts of how unfair it all is, why it had to happen, and things of that nature, but I have learned to overcome those thoughts with the reality that I was very for
