GETTING THROUGH THE DAY IT HAPPENED July 1st, 2004 is a day that will forever be etched into my memory. I will never forget the phone call explaining that my 17 year old son, Kyle, was no longer with us. For 5 long years now I have had to make it through July 1st. What I have found comforting on this horrible anniversary date is to remember not the tragedy, but happy memories of his short-lived life. I recall things such as him learning how to walk; his 1st birthday and how he took his piece of cake and smashed it on and all over his head and face, and other memorable moments of his childhood.
