How Do You Cook Homemade Vegetable Soup Outdoors?
Cooking outdoors can be a challenge. Foods tend to char easily, stick to pans or cook unevenly. One of the easiest things to cook over a campfire without worrying about overcooking or burning is vegetable soup. This soup recipe uses canned goods and pantry items, too, so that you don’t have to worry about the ingredients going bad. It’s also very quick to fix so you can make it fast for hungry stomachs. Find two sticks with a Y-shaped crook at the end and one straight one that are all about 2 inches in diameter. They should all be around 3 feet long. Dig a hole 5 inches deep and 3 inches wide on each side of your fire pit. Place the Y-shaped sticks into the hole, and pack dirt around them until they are stable. Put the handle of the pot onto the straight stick, and lay the stick on top of the Y-shaped sticks in their “Y” crook. Center the pot over the fire pit. Put all of the bouillon cubes, water, seasoning and vegetables into the pot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Start a small fire
