How Do You Cook Corned Beef Without It Shredding?
Corned beef has always been a difficult meat to cook since it does tend to shred after it has been cooked thoroughly. Most dishes that call for cooked corned beef require the meat to be cut, rather than shredded. If you cook the meat slowly over a long period of time, the meat will be firm and easy to cut without shredding. The process does require about 15 hours for preparation so that the meat is cooked and firm for slicing. Place the package of corned beef into the Crock Pot and cook on high for 3 hours. Turn the Crock Pot heat down to low. Allow the corned beef to cook overnight on low or for 8 hours. Place the Crock Pot insert in the refrigerator for 4 hours in the morning. Allowing the corned beef to soak in its own juices and thicken up since the beef is very tender. Remove the Crock Pot insert from the refrigerator after 4 hours and take the corned beef from the pot. It will now be easy to slice the beef instead of it shredding it when you cut it.
